Description

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter & Pink Moon

A Rare chance to get hold of both of these UK original pressing on the Pink Rim Island Label.

Both great copies too from my personal collection.

1) Bryter Layter plays superbly, almost like a brand new record. Would grade as M- as I would never grade a record of this age as mint. A lot of these old Island albums have some light background noise but this one doesn't. Looks stunning too, has some very light marks if held under a really bright light but you wouldn't see these otherwise. Labels nice and clean.

Stamped Matrix numbers - ILPS 9134 A-1U (with another A further round) & ILPS 9134 B-1U (with an H further round)

No brackets on track times.

Original blue polylined inner bag with Pink "I" logo. Has a little marking on it.

Delicate textured sleeve is so hard to find in good shape and this is one of the best I've seen. Only very faint signs of ringwear which affects most copies. Spine clearly legible, no creases bar a really faint one in bottom left corner (most people probably wouldn't even mention it) , just a little wear/feathering around the corners. Printed and made by the E.J Day Group, London.

2) Pink Moon - plays VG+ or EX- depending on your opinion of a little light static/crackle background noise. Certainly doesn't spoil it but it is just audible in the background. Lots of Island pressings I've heard have this. Has a number of small faint surface lines which you will see under a bright light and a few very faint spindle marks.

Stamped Matrix numbers - ILPS 9184 A-IU (with a 1 and what I think is an R further round, opposite each other) & ILPS 9184 B-1U (with 2 1 and C A further around, opposite each other)

Comes with original blue polylined Island inner bag with the Pink "I" logo

Another delicate sleeve with only very slight signs of ringwear on the rear of the gatefold. No creases or tears and a lovely clean inside. Just a little wear around some of the edges and spine (which can still be read, although slightly obscured). So difficult to find a copy much better than this.

In summary, 2 great copies of 2 extremely rare LP's which I've had in my collection for many years. Copies of the quality of the Bryter Layter here have sold for £400-£500 pound before.
