New Order Substance Double LP Vinyl Embossed 1987 First Edition Factory FAC200
I bought this record for my then girlfriend (now long time partner) when this was released in 1987. It is the original Town Gate pressing, with the embossed sleeve and pictured Inner sleeves.
I'm not an expert on grading records and appreciate that there does seem to be a number of grading systems out there that dealers use, but I've tried to describe the condition of both the vinyl and sleeves fully below.
The Outer sleeve has slight yellowing as befitting its age and minor creasing and scuffs around the edges (please zoom in on the photos to judge for yourself), but nothing to really detract from the cover. The back of the outer cover has two stickers on it - one from WH Smiths (£3.29) and another indeterminate sticker. I didn't like to remove these as it would possibly damage the sleeve after all this time. Its up to you to decide whether this adds or detracts from its authenticity or appeal.
The inner sleeves are both in decent condition, again both have slight yellowing and the odd minor crease. Again nothing to detract from the overall look.
The Vinyl itself is in very good playable condition on all 4 sides. There is slight crackling on run ins and run offs and the sporadic crackle between one or two tracks, but basically nothing too distracting from the music itself. Side Two has a minor scratch, which does result in a few clicks during the first minute of Blue Monday, but again nothing very distracting.
