They called her "The High Priestess Of Soul". And, she was all that; but, she was so much more. She began her career as a Classical, then Jazz, Pianist and went on to become a Jazz Singer, a Blues Singer and a Soul singer. Ultimately, she became one of the finest interpretative artists of her time. She became the social conscience of her generation and a Civil Rights Activist. She was an expatriate. She had a fantastic unique voice and a musical style that was riveting upon first hearing, and could never be ignored nor forgotten. Fortunately, she left behind a vast body of music when she left us on April 21, 2003. NINA SIMONE recorded 40 albums in her lifetime, I have 30 of them in my current listings!
