Description
This is a New, Sealed copy of the debut LP from Bert Sommer called The Road To Travel on Capitol Records ST-189 from 1968. There are no cutout marks! The LP was produced by Artie Kornfeld who put together with three others, the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Bert was one of the first acts to perform at Woodstock, earning the first standing ovation. This record is hard to find in good condition and is almost impossible to find in sealed condition. To find it sealed and not have a cutout of any kind is truly remarkable! If you can find a CD, you'll pay a high price for it, and the CD does not come close to sounding as good as the album sounds on vinyl. This LP also comes with an insert.
The shrink wrap is torn on the front under the title. This is where a price sticker once was. I did not do this. There is a tiny spot of paint missing in this area. This appears as a white spot. I took a closeup photo of this. There is a minor corner bump in the upper left. The upper right has a very small amount of shrink missing, and you can see wear on this edge, and a small amount of seam split starting. I have taken a closeup photo of this. It is the one with the Capitol logo. I have also taken a photo of this area on the back cover. It can be seen with the title on a closeup photo. The shrink is also split for about the first two inches from the top at the opening, and about another inch or so at the opening in the middle. The bottom left and right corners have small corner bumps and a small amount of shrink and paint from the cover missing. It looks like most of the wear that can be seen on the back is on the shrink wrap. This sounds far worse than it is. I just want you to know as much about it as possible. Sorry for the bad photos. This is a very hard cover to photograph. What you see most is reflections of things in the room where I took it. This is an extremely hard LP to find in sealed condition as there wasn't a large quantity pressed. Most will also have a cutout mark of some kind. This one does not have a cutout mark. It may be your only chance at a sealed copy without a cutout. Most copies of this LP are in used condition with a lot of ringwear.
