  • M- No marks, appears unplayed
    • VG++ only 1 or up to 4 small surface marks from the sleeve or brushing along fingernails, no scratches - record was well taken care of and looks hardly played. Strong variation of this grade sometimes given. 
    • VG+ 4-5 (or more) surface marks. This grade tells me this record has been played a few times but still in very nice shape. No digs of any size that you could feel on the vinyl.
    • VG  For more obsure records with light scratches & scuffs without any playing problems.
