Description
Mushroom- Early One Morning LP Vinyl Album 12" 1973 Gatefold Sleeve +Inner +Poster Celtic Prog Folk
Outer gatefold laminated sleeve has some age discolouration and a couple small corner dinks plus some ungluing of the gatefold and some edge wear. The photos will describe this better that I can. Original printed paper inner sleeve has NO seam splits but some age discolouration and plenty of creases. Again the photos will show it better. Original band photo poster is folded 3 times from an A2 sized colour picture down to an A5 size but it's not been put on a wall and is intact and complete. The vinyl itself is a first pressing A1/B1 matrix with some spindle marks. No equipment to play test since my store closed but looks in VG+ shape. Few feint sleeve/whisper marks but nothing serious that I can see that would affect playback. LPs are packaged in a manner to ensure safe traveling using stiffeners and professional envelopes to ensure safe arrival in the same condition as they leave. Records are removed from the sleeve in order to prevent seam splits in transit. This very rare album was the only LP by this Irish band. Mushroom were a progressive folk group who included some traditional Celtic folk music sound into their style. The album also includes some psychedelic influences here and there.
The quality of the material is mostly enjoyable. The highlights include "Crying", "Standing Alone" and the album closer "King of Alba". While there are a couple of weaker tracks as well most of the time this disc sounds pretty impressive. The weakest parts are those tracks which are more "traditional Irish folk music" oriented. However the best parts in this album are indeed really good.
