Description

This auction is for an extremely rare Test Pressing of Motorhead Iron Fist. The disc is in its original white sleeve, straight from Polygram Records. It has a sticker on it bearing the name and address of Stu Fine at Polygram Records in New York. Also included are the original Album Label Copy and Mastering Instructions, an 8 1/2 x 11 confidential internal document generated by Mercury Records to accompany the test pressing.  The Test Pressing was manufactured for Mercury by Haupauge Record Manufacturing, Ltd.

This Test Pressing is extremely rare.  My research has not revealed another copy up for auction - EVER.

Iron Fist is the fifth album by the British band Motörhead. Released on 17 April 1982, it peaked at #6 on the UK album charts. It was the final album to be recorded by the Lemmy, Eddie Clarke and Phil Taylor line-up.

This Test Pressing is for the version which was released ONLY in the US and Canada - the one with the Bronze Logo.  This album is a must for any serious Motorhead collector, and for every serious collector of Test Pressings.

Condition:

I am the original owner, and I am a recovering audiophile. I acquired this record when the Ex worked at Polygram in the '80's. This record is from my personal collection. I have always taken fastidious care of my records. This record has been played maybe twice, always using a properly-adjusted tonearm and cartridge, and only after dry cleaning carefully with a carbon-fiber brush. Please bid with confidence, knowing that you are going to own a truly rare item in exceptionally good condition. NO RESERVE.

Vinyl: Mint.  Highest quality pressing by H.R.M.
Cover:  Near Mint. Inside paper sleeve slightly yellowed with age. Stu Fine Address Sticker on front.
Insert:  Very cool, slightly wrinkled and yellowed with age.
