Limited Edition 4-LP boxed set: The Complete Pacific Jazz Studio Recordings of The Chet Baker Quartet with Russ Freeman: Mosaic MR4-122 [Limited Edition of 7500 Albums / USA]. (Condition: records are mostly VG++, with side 2 perhaps a strong VG+ w/ light rubs. /\ The box is on the highest side of VG+ w/ a little bit of price-sticker residue on the upper front cover, no splits, corners intact. /\ The invaluable booklet is VG+ w/ a few slight wrinkles, no tears, ceases or extraneous writing.) ||| This box truly brings to life the splendid partnership of Baker-Freeman. They recorded these outstanding sessions between July 1953 and November 1956. Freeman’s extremely rhythmic, two-handed style was perfect for Baker’s unique tone and approach. This set also presents a good number of Baker’s vocal performances. /\ Various versions of the quartet include Bob Whitlock, Bobby White, Carson Smith, Larry Bunker, Shelly Manne, Jimmy Bond, Leroy Vinnegar, others. /||\ Original sessions were released as Chet Baker Quartet (10"); Chet Baker Plays and Sings; Chet Baker Sings; The Trumpet Artistry of Chet Baker; Chet Baker: Pretty/Groovy; Quartet: Russ Freeman and Chet Baker; plus various Jazz West Coast anthologies and Baker compilations. While there’s technically not that much previously unissued material, it would take a tremendous effort to collect what’s presented here in their original formats. || Excellent liner notes covering each session plus other comment and essays. Lots of fine photographs from the sessions too. || Note: I also am listing the Mosaic set of Live Performances by Baker & Freeman at this time. || [RE: Zee] || Notes on mailing and mailing charges are in the following paragraphs. ||

Be sure to provide your Zip Code (or Country) in this line in order to save time in communications. /\ Both U.S. Priority charges and International Rates will be quoted after I get the package’s country of destination. *** NOTICE ON MAILING: I feel that my eBay rating & feedback assures buyers that I am a responsible seller (& buyer). One who follows through on deals and that goes out of his way to be fair in the rare case of dispute. Yet to buyers new to my operation, here goes:1.) I only use USPS.
2.) I guarantee that packages will be correctly addressed and safely packed. (That’s why I ask buyers to respond via email with their mailing address. I cut it out and tape it to the address label.)
3.) I will take NO Responsibility for LOSS of UNINSURED packages. I’ll say it another way, no refunds on lost packages, if they are not insured.
4.) I know that this can be a hardship, especially for International Buyers due to the prohibitive expense of mailing & insuring Parcel Post, which is the only way insured packages can be sent outside of the USA. Insurance is not available for the cheaper Letter-Post delivery. Yet keep in mind that out of about 1000 items that we’ve mailed throughout the world, only a mere handful (perhaps 5 or 6) has not been delivered. So the odds are extremely good that International Packages will arrive safely. But the buyer (domestic or international) is the one who takes the chance.
5.) This goes for domestic items too: no refunds on undelivered, uninsured packages. As to insured domestic packages: it is the responsibility of the buyer to collect insurance on these items. I will provide all appropriate sales documentation; and if necessary, the proper postal forms to the buyer.
Not to put too fine of a point on it -- but if you don’t feel that you can live with the above caveats -- don’t bid on my items. If you are interested in even more information, I deal with this morbid subject in even greater, excruciating detail on my Website (see above link). Thanks for your time. Regards, Berigan
