Description

Milton Boothe with Lynn Taitt’s Band – ‘Used To Be A Fool’ / The Pioneers with The Ramblers ‘I Love No Other Girl’ – Caltone 113 (UK)

Please listen to a snippet below:

An excruciatingly rare record, released in 1968, this is the second of only two releases by the obscure Milton Boothe on Ken Lack’s Caltone label. Utterly superb rocksteady, as good as it gets really.

Condition: The Milton Boothe side, actually the flip, is VG+. There are a few tiny marks causing a couple of faint clicks but no scratches. Hard to find in any condition, of course, but this copy should please even the most discerning listener (please listen to clip).

The Pioneers side, possibly less interesting musically, is a ballad. This side is more worn: there a couple of clicks, audible mostly because of the lower volume of the pressing. I would rate it a strong VG overall.

The Milton Boothe label has some light ring wear and slight discolouration. The same holds true for the flip, which also has an unusual printing error in that the Caltone trumpet and the copyright text are slightly askew (please see scans). The four-pronged centre is intact. All in all, a great copy!
