Description
Welcom to my auction for this rare 7" vinyl single by:-
Marc Bolan - Hippy Gumbo/Misfit(Parlophone R5539)
Very Rare Green Label `DEMO` from 1966 this was only issued in VERY small numbers and is extremely hard to find, In fact you see more GOLD STEREO beatles LP`s than you do these, Not sure when the last one went up for auction but i personally have not seen another copy apart from this one.
Condition
This is where it gets a little difficult as the single does have some light scratches and wear and tear but for a +40 year old record it plays great, I have tried to take as many pictures of the playing surface as i could showing all the marks to be as honest as possible to describe the condition.
I have collected records for over 15 years and can appretiate what a dissapointment something can be if over described to make it seem more desirable so with this single i will be as up front as possible as i dont agree that just because something is rare that it has to be worth more than normal for its condition, for me condition is what the pricing is all about.
I would say that the vinyl visually grades at best very good with surface marks and light scratches overall but it plays very well, It does NOT jump or stick or have any nasty distortion throughout, obviously there is some back ground noise and some pops and clicks but in genral its not bad and does not really distract from the music too much.
Hopefully the pictures will show you more than my description will but this is the original state of the record and has not been tampered with in anyway, There is a name on the lable in biro,not too noticable.
It has the 1 G Stampers on both sides of the vinyl and 7xce 20515-1 side 1 & 7xce 20516-1 proving this to be a first original pressing and would be within the 1st 300 pressings, I dont think they actually pressed many more anyway at most i would say about 500 with it being a demo.
