Any collector of Marc Bolan / T-Rex will know this as one of the most and sought after desirable items From Mr Mark Feld of Hackney, London!
Suffice to say that the actual 'issue' single which was released (or more likely, escaped) on the Parlophone label in 1966 is the holy grail for Bolan collectors. I have been trading for over 30 years and have only seen one copy which I sold last year for £1,500.
But, as a 'second best' the one shown here marked 'DEMONSTRATION RECORD, NOT FOR SALE' is still a great find! In fact, the 'demo' record, since it pre-dates the issued one, should have greater appeal as it is, obviously, the very first pressing.
There is evidence of a small sticker having been removed at the 12 o'clock position and there is a hand written number above this. (repeated on the B-side). Other than that I can promise you, the record is 'absolutely mint', possibly 'unplayed. If this was a common single I would expect the evidence of a small sticker and a number to affect its desirability but, for a record that is hardly ever seen, it should not put you off!
I really hope this goes to a true Bolan fan, you will not be disappointed with this fabulous rare item.
