French Acoustic Pathe 1718 thru 1741
Complete opera on 24 records
This is a set of 24 vertical cut "Disque Pathe" acoustic records from France. They require the standard Pathe sapphire ball stylus for playback. Artists include Heldy, Marny, Ponzio & Dupre among others. The records range in condition from v+ to e- and there is a copyright sticker on some of the labels.
These acoustic Pathe sets of complete operas are a milestone in early operatic recordings and are rarely found complete. We will be listing several similar complete opera sets this week including La Favorite, Carmen and Faust. Don't miss them, as they are important additions to any early operatic library.
