MY BLOODY VALENTINE LOVELESS TEST PRESSING LP PLAIN 105

Over the past decade, the audiophile reissue vinyl record label called “4 Men With Beards” has specialized in 180 gram reissues of classic recordings of the 1960’s and 1970’s from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Public Image Limited, Television and more. Taken from the original master tapes whenever possible, 4 Men With Beards quickly made an impression on the marketplace.

Their sister label called “Plain Recordings,” focused on the same high quality manufacturing, but generally music from the 1980’s and 1990’s from the likes the Flaming Lips and others – again, master tapes were generally the source.

We were lucky to acquire this collection of ‘white label’ test pressings from the pressing plant – most of these have never been played or at most 1 or 2 times. So, we’re talking mint and very near mint quality.

Some of the records have hand-writing on the label (done at the factory) – but this merely the #catalog number of the recording and/or the name of the artist/album.

They come packaged in a plain white sleeve (again, generally clean, with sometimes notes or other information pertaining to that particular recording for the purposes of identifying the test pressing or comments after giving it a listen or two for reference.

Incredibly rare, often only 3 to 6 copies maximum of these white label test pressings were manufactured. And for certain fans, not only are they extremely collectable, but there’s a certain school of audiophiles and fans who feel that test pressings sound better than regular records, as the stampers are fresh and new.
