Some info on the release: Bloody rare limited edition issue, released in Germany in the early 70's. Features a view to the musique concrete and electroacoustic music experiments mainly of the "french school". On this record, except from the "top of the cream" musique concrete experiments of the early days, you can find exclusive (only on this record) material, like Jacques Lejeune's "La Chute d'Icare", Guy Reibel's "Vertiges" or Francois Bayle's "Rosace 3"...a once in a lifetime chance to get hold of this mega rarity.
Musique concrète (French for "concrete music" or "real music") is a form of electroacoustic music that utilises acousmatic sound as a compositional resource. The compositional material is not restricted to the inclusion of sounds derived from musical instruments or voices, nor to elements traditionally thought of as "musical" (melody, harmony, rhythm, metre and so on). The theoretical underpinnings of the aesthetic were developed by Pierre Schaeffer, beginning in the late 1940s.
In 1951 Schaeffer, along with the engineer Jacques Poullin, and composer-percussionist Pierre Henry, established the Groupe de Recherche de Musique Concrète (Research Group on Concrete Music) at RTF in Paris, the ancestor of the ORTF (Lange 2009, 173).
At RTF the GRMC established the first purpose-built electroacoustic music studio. It quickly attracted many who either were or were later to become notable composers, including Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, Jean Barraqué, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Edgard Varese, Iannis Xenakis, Michel Philippot, and Arthur Honegger.
Condition: Vinyl lies in excellent condition, looks super clean with the exception of just a few hairline marks and plays with very light crackle, while cover lies in very good+ condition with edge and age wear.
