Description

This is a 4-track cartridge tape (not an 8-Track or CD or cassette or vinyl LP). You will need a 4-track player to play it. It looks similar to an 8-track but it will NOT play in an 8-track player.

VARIOUS ARTISTS: Good Timin' (Scepter Wand Group / ITCC 4-Track tape, F-95-8001)

  • Condition : SEALED
  • Description : One of the strangest Texas psychedelic collectables I've run across. Essentially, when Muntz-type 4-track cartridge decks became popular as aftermarket stereo gear for vehicles circa 1966-67, ITCC began licensing material from various labels for issue in the new formats (they also made 8-track and cassette tapes). Usually these were normal tape issues of LP records, but occasionally they came up with a tape-only compilation album. This one pairs the two sides of the legendary Moving Sidewalks 45 "99th Floor" & "What Are You Going To Do" with, among other things, "Louie Louie" and "Jolly Green Giant" by The Kingsmen, plus various cuts by Don & The Goodtimes and The Rocky Fellers. This must have been issued when Wand was briefly licensing the Sidewalks for national release. For what it's worth, this also makes it as a unique Pacific Northwest '60s item. Only spare copy I've had, and I doubt I will ever see another. This is SEALED in original Wand / Scepter / ITCC sleeve with title tag on end. The shrink is torn a bit and the title tag has a few minor stains, otherwise the whole package is as new. I also have an 8-track version in my collection; anybody know if it came out on cassette?
