Description

THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION (FRANK ZAPPA) – FREAK OUT! – Verve V-5005-2 (Original Mono Pressing in Gatefold Sleeve!). Discs (2) are Near Mint Minus (S1); VG+ (S2); Near Mint Plus (S3 & S4); Labels (Silver Print on Blue) are all in Near Mint Plus range; Outer Sleeve is VG+ (surface and corner wear, but no seam splits); Gatefold Inner Sleeve is Near Mint.

This original, deep groove vinyl, gatefold pressing is, of course, the stuff of ‘60s legend in all its warm, right-between-the-ears, solid sender Mono mastered sound. The sleeve contains all the blurbs, including the infamous “warning” to freaks planning on visiting L.A. This warning was removed from subsequent pressings. The vinyl is very clean and does not appear to have been played much at all. Some very superficial hairline scuffs (no scratches) here and there, but that’s it. This sucker looks incredibly good and virtually new despite it being 40+ years old. Spot check playback indicates Near Mint to Mint Minus range. Titles are: Hungry Freaks, Daddy; I Ain’t Got No Heart; Who Are the Brain Police (Dick Cheney’s favorite Mothers’ song); Go Cry On Somebody Else’s Shoulder; Motherly Love; How Could I Be Such A Fool; Wowie Zowie; You Didn’t Try To Call Me; Any Way The Wind Blows; I’m Not Satisfied; You’re Probably Wondering Why I’m Here; Trouble Every Day; Help, I’m A Rock (Elvis’ favorite Mothers’ song); and The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet.

All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve to protect against seam splitting (unless factory sealed). LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.

I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards.
