Original late 1970s lp on MoWil. Morris Wilson – Fantasy Island. Very scarce private press lp released by sax player Wilson himself on his own MoWil label. (Morris Wilson – MoWil) This is a great lp and every track is superb.A mixture of good time party jazz funk grooves and an almost spiritual jazz sound.So many killer tracks for the dancefloor.’Put Your Foot On The Ground’ is a killer dancefloor tune with nice repetitive vocal and super tight groove.More of the same on ‘Night Breeze’ but here we get a lovely female vocal on top of the super tight funky instrumentation.Then there’s a reworking of Sugarhill’s Rappers Delight here renamed ‘Beboppers Delight’ and what a killer tune this is.Absolutely wicked tune that is perfect for the djs to fill the dancefloor.’Love Tones’ and ‘Echoes Of The Past’ both have a slight spiritual jazz feel to them while retaining the tight funky sound that makes up the rest of this lp.Overall this is a superb lp,lovely sax lines from Wilson and some beautiful electric keys as well as some drums and bass and of course those lovely deep vocals.Something for everyone here,top shelf jazz funk for the dancefloor as well as being a great listen throughtout.Very scarce lp and not an easy one to find. This particular lp is sealed and it’s one of the last copies I have.I was lucky enough to obtain a handful of copies from a u.s. dealer a while ago now.There aren’t many copies out there at all and I bet this was a real small pressing run. Record near mint (still sealed).Sleeve near mint (still sealed).
