Description
This rare DJ PROMO LP Rooster Blues features the legendary Lightnin' Slim and his harmonious blues. The vinyl record, released in 1960 on Excello is a first pressing edition with E+ vinyl and EE+ cardboard sleeve with vibrant colors with a DJ COPY stamp on side A of the label and the back of sleeve! It has no seam splits or cracks, just mild discoloration on corners due to age. All of my father’s LP’s were kept in PVC plastic and stored indoors in LP boxes. This is the first week I am listing his LP’s as I discovered some boxes full of beautiful albums like this one. This one is obviously very special due to the condition of a 1st pressing and being a DJ COPY. The matrix number is etched 8000-A. If the record is bought with the Buy It Now option shipping will be refunded!
I ship worldwide via Ebay International (please check ebay international shipping rules). Within the United States records are shipped USPS Priority with a low flat rate. I recommend insurance as I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged records. That said I pack all records professionally in record specific boxes with a padding process I upgraded from just traditional cardboard squares alone. I will combine records at no further charge but will not put more than three 78’s, four 45’s or five 33’s per box. If you require full insurance please contact me for final shipping fee. Thank you for visiting Monroe Rare Records and don’t forget to check out my other listings.
IF FOR ANY REASON YOU ARE UNSATISFIED WITH YOUR PURCHASE, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. THAT IS MY 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE!
MY 33 1/2 RPM GRADING SYSTEM:
(Note: I now play each record I sell graded below an E rating once for extremely accurate grading. I recently bought an Audio Technics LP AT120X with removable 45/33 and 78 specific stylus as 78 grooves are cut differently from 45’s and 33’s)
N- NEW MINUS - Highest grade used. Appears unplayed. Full luster. Slight signs of handling. The Ultimate grade (or upgrade) for all collectors.
E+ EXCELLENT PLUS - Full luster remains. Very few careful plays. Slightest indications of use or handling. Extremely collectable.
E EXCELLENT - Again full luster. Mild signs of play, inaudible sleeve scuffs but no serious wear or scratches. A collector piece.
E- EXCELLENT MINUS - Most if not all luster remains, but record has some noticeable wear, scuffs and / or a shallow scratch. Still a nice 78, acceptable to most collectors.
V++ Similar to above grade of E- but will have a defect that will be described in the listing.
V+ VERY GOOD PLUS - Record has considerable wear, scuff and / or scratches. Still plays ok but is clearly a used record. A majority of 78’s on the market today, unless from a well cared for collection are in the V to V+ range if not lower.
V VERY GOOD - Mostly or fully gray from use. Obvious surface noise but still plays ok and all the way through with more clicks and pops. Scuffing and / or scratches more prominent.
V- VERY GOOD MINUS - Further deterioration. Fully gray with deeper wear and heavy surface noise and/or skipping.
G - GOOD - I DO NOT SELL “G” RATED RECORDS 78’s
If you use Popsike etc for reference make sure you read the listings for condition, zoom in on the record for visual condition and view the history. The latest one that sold does not necessarily the bar. There is a night and day difference between VG- and M-!!
