Description

Artist:   MILES DAVIS

Title:   “Miles Davis – Volume 2”

Label:   BLUE NOTE ~ BLP 1502.  Monaural pressing on heavy vinyl.  Labels are blue/white, with deep groove.

Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS * 47 WEST 63RD * NEW YORK 23” on both sides.

Label does not have “R” symbol under Blue Note logo.

“RVG” and ear symbol are etched in the runout groove on both sides.

Jacket address is as follows:  “For Complete Catalog Write to BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21”

Personnel:

Miles Davis – trumpet

Jay Jay Johnson – trombone

Jimmy Heath – tenor sax

Jackie McLean – alto sax

Gil Coggins or Horace Silver - piano

Art Blakey or Kenny Clarke – drums

Percy Heath or Oscar Pettiford - bass.

Condition:

DISC: Vinyl is NM- / VG+ to VG++ with full original gloss.  Has been played a small number of times and handled with care.

Side 1 is near flawless with a couple slight hairline scuffs but nothing audible.  Playback is superb.

Side 2 would grade NM- except for a pair of more noticeable long light hairline scuffs, but again these are cosmetic and not audible.  No clicks, no pops, no distractions.

Both sides play beautifully with maximum listening enjoyment.  A fine playing copy.

Labels are clean and pristine.

JACKET:   Jacket is nice VG+.   Nice bright artwork on both front and reverse panels – displays nicely.  A bit of light surface wear is noticeable on laminated front panel, and a few wear spots on top and bottom seams.  Some minor cracking along the left side of top seam.  Spine is nice.

Wear spots at the corners, top right corner is bumped, and there is a small bend at bottom right corner.

Reverse panel (with Lexington Ave. address) is clean and white with no writing, stickers, or stains.
