Description

A very nice copy of the First LP Release of DIG, featuring Miles Davis, with a great lineup of Sonny Rollins, Jackie McLean, Art Blakey, Tommy Potter and Walter Bishop. On this LP is a session from October 5, 1951. Rudy Van Gelder remastered these recordings for release on 12” 33 rpm records – his hand-etched initials RVG are on the dead wax on both sides.

This record has has been cleaned and play-graded. The record surfaces are rated as VG+, with quiet surfaces and no needle sticks or loud, repetitive clicks. The record cover is in VG condition - the spine has some tape residue and there is the retail price in pencil and my stamp on the upper left back cover (see photos). The spine and seams are intact, although the lower seam is worn (see photos). The yellow and black “Fireworks” labels both have the original 446 W. 50th St. N.Y.C address and the characteristic Deep Grooves. Both Side A and B labels are clean and unmarked.

This record is from my personal collection and I have decided it’s now time to start selling most of my records. I bought this LP New around 50 years ago and it has been carefully stored and occasionally played since.

Check out my eBay store for more Miles Davis and other great Jazz of that era, as well as Classical and World music from the 1950s & 1960s. Buy more than one LP and pay no additional Shipping costs to USA addresses.
