Grading Scale

Vinyl / Cover 
Record Grade is shown 1st / Cover Grade is shown 2nd.

I always state any major flaws with the record or cover along with the grade.
If a 12" or EP only has a vinyl grade it will be sent alone in a new paper sleeve.
**I use + or - to grade items in between the following levels. All grading is strict and honest**

(SS) Still-sealed: This is what “Mint condition,” really means. The album is sealed in its original packaging and has never been played. Not many of these in my record collection, the majority got played!

NM (Near Mint): This is the highest grade for records that have been played. The record is near mint showing little to no visible flaws. Covers are sharp and look nearly new.

EX (Excellent): While not flawless, the vinyl condition is excellent, showing only minimal signs of use. Any visible blemishes should have minimal affect on play quality, though light surface noise may be present at very quiet portions or between tracks. This is a record that should satisfy all but the most strict of collectors. Covers may have slight ring and seam wear, minor writing on the cover, creasing on the corners but seams are without any splits.

VG (Very Good): Vinyl may have scratches and/or other visual blemishes, but should play through without skipping or repeating. Light to moderate surface noise and/or crackle may be present, however not overly distracting. Covers may have moderate ring and/or edge wear and moderate seam splits.

Poor (P): Let's face it, the sound quality of the vinyl is low, even unplayable in places. Besides the usual seam splits and wear, the cover may be ripped in several places and actually unable to house the record anymore. I consider any item graded below VG- as a POOR item. I only sell vinyl rated VG- and above unless the record is so rare that its presence in the collection transcends the poor quality of the vinyl. I will sell records with poor covers but put the vinyl in a new sleeve and send the old cover alongside.
