A little played and truly brilliant condition copy of this US original press jazz gem rarity

1959 Miles Davis gem on cherished black & yellow US Prestige record label : excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - thick, weighty and completely flat with earliest A/B matrices and difficult to detect any blemishes - indeed, in normal daylight both sides of the vinyl gleam with almost perfect retention of it's original jet black lacquered sheen. Just beautiful! Even with close inspection under a bright light the only barely detectable marks are a couple of small and faintest of faint surface hairlines...nothing really. Clearly, this is a record that has been sparingly played and the tightness of the spindle in the centre hole with the existence of just one or two small and extremely faint spindle trails are further testament to this. Excellent plus (EX+) condition Prestige original press yellow & black "fireworks" motif labels with just a couple of small & extremely faint spindle trails next to the centre hole on each. Note the circular "deep groove" on each label, the small pressing ring around the B side centre hole, and the "203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J." address on each label - each further identifiers of this original 1959 US pressing. Excellent (EX) condition front side laminated thick cardboard "G E M Albums" printed outer sleeve, with firm unscuffed edges, near perfectly defined right angled corners with minimal rubbing, no laminate lifting, and just some very mild surface storage marks on the original "paste-on' towards the edges on the reverse side (see photos). The spine remains rock solid with just a little rubbing at each end, the opening edges are firm with no fraying or feathering, and all colours/art work remain vibrantly intact and perfectly legible, though on the front side there is just a little very mild "dulling" towards the bottom edge and bottom left hand corner - this is not staining, just very mild age discolouration. In essence, the look and feel of this sleeve remains as impressive and iconic as ever. Excellent plus (EX+) MONO audio quality with no skips, sticks, jumps, repeats, interference, distortion or background interference/crackle. Even the dead wax run-ins and run-offs are virtually silent...remarkable! I did notice x3 very mild background and sporadic clicks on side 2 but the only reason for these must be the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage, and certainly not down to any scratch or scuff because there aren't any - it's as simple as that! Simply great tone with crystal clear MONO audio quality throughout with Miles Davis and a host of other jazz greats (Horace Silver, Percy Heath, Kenny Clarke to name but three) at the top of their game. Simply stunning!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits.
