Description
I purchased this album and the Sgt. Peppers album by the Beatles in around 1983 at a local record store where I purchased all my records. It was my first year in college. Although at the time I did not know anything about Mobile Fidelity. I noticed them on a counter behind the cashier. I knew there was something special about them so by a gut instinct I bought both of them for around $80.00. I was so curious how they sounded that I went home and played them both (I had high end audio equipment) and I can remember to this day how incredible they sounded. Compact discs were just being introduced and upon comparing the sound of both, the LP's sound was far superior. The good news was I had an opportunity to hear these incredible albums; the bad news was I had opened them. Which today I regret. Since compact discs were becoming more popular, I put them away for safe keeping. You know how rough college kids can be on albums or discs; at least I was.
As the years progressed my albums followed with from move to move, always being placed in a secure location. I have had them tucked away in my wife's cedar chest for the past 16 years (that is how long we have been married). In 2005 I sold my Sgt. Peppers UHQR; it was my first sale on Ebay. Now look at what they are going for. Now it is time to sell this one.
The condition of the cover is NM with sharp corners and no warping, fading and very minimal shelf wear. The silver top is extremely vivid and bright. The album cover inside is VG++ with a slight crease at the very top (just the beginning of a small, slight tear due to the movement of the album). Otherwise, it is without any issues. The rice sleeve (I believe that is what they call it is flawless enclosing a flawless album that was only played once when I initially purchased it. The manuel and letter of authenticity are also flawless with no fading or discoloring. Overall, the quality is NM. Please refer to the pictures. It's time this prised collectible goes to a new home.
