Up for auction is a brand new Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's release of "The Rolling Stones" Box, catalog # MFSL RC-1, originally released in October 1984. This set is brand new, it was opened by me at the time I purchased it from Herb Belkin's private collection, around 1999, as MFSL was going out of business. I wanted to inspect that I wanted to make certain that I was receiving the correct box, and not a "Sinatra" box. This set of Stones Lps is much more rare than The Beatles "Collection" 14 Lp set. There were 20,000 Beatles sets manufactured, there were only 10,000 Stones sets made, this set was #23 of all the albums that were pressed. The Limited Edition Library of Orginal Master Recordings, transferred direct from the original 1963 to 1969 master recording tapes of The Rolling Stones, includes an elegant Artbook that reproduces The Rolling Stones original album cover graphics. (From the promotional slick the following can be said about this set), According to their most ardent fans and pop music critics, no other artist had the profound musical impact...the almost ledgendary status...as those released during The Rolling Stones' first decade of recording during the 1960's. When you think of The Rolling Stones, what are the first songs you think of? Maybe "Brown Sugar", or "Honky Tonk Woman","Jumpin Jack Flash","Gimme Shelter","Under My Thumb"."(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction","TIme Is On My Side","Street Fighting Man","Paint It Black" and so many other of their hits recorded between 1963 and 1969. It is those songs ...and more than 100 other historic Rolling Stones performances...That comprise The Rolling Stones the limited edition of Original Master Recordings from the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. The Rolling Stones collection utilizes MFSL's exclusive half-speed mastering music transference technology, the world's highest quality vinyl pressings and extraordinarily protective packaging. Because of these and other MFSL proprietary procedures, you will experience The Rolling Stones wieh imaging so real that you'll believe that they are performing live in your living room.  To further heighten that feeling, their famed live concert album, "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out" is included in the collection. In addition to "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out",(recorded live at The Madison Square Garden 1969(, The Rolling Stones limited edition library includes these classic Rolling Stones Original Master Recording albums: The Rolling Stones; 12 x 5; Out Of Our Heads; Aftermath' Between The Buttons' Their Satanic Majesties Request; Beggar's Banquet; Let It Bleed; and the double disc compilation album Hot Rocks. The Rolling Stones Artbook included with this collection is a handsome, oversize full-color artbook. The Rolling Stones Artbook displays the original album cover graphics of each of the albums in the collection, duplicated from the orginal film transparencies, printed on art quality paperstock, this 12 1/4" x 12 1/4" volume also describes the technical process utilized in the vreation of Original Master Recordings. The artbook also includes interviews with the Rolling Sones engineers and producers. Each of the many elements included in the The Rolling Stones is iencased in a luxurious outer presentation case. Framed in a sturdy wooden housing, this presentation box is covered in an elegant black fabric emblazoned with the striking red logotype of The Rolling Stones collection. For ultimate protection, the eleven Original Master Recording Discs are stored in perfect vertical; alignment within the case's tray divider system. This prevents unnecssary wear-and tear and avoids possible disc warpage. The set also comes with a Geodisc. To allow you to even more accurately (and dramatically) enjoy the sonic dynamics of these Rolling Sotnes orignal master recordings, A Geo-Disc cartridge alignment instrument is enclosed. The Geo-Disc will enable you to easily align your turntable to within 2/1000th's of an inch in accuracy. The result can be incredibly improved playback performance. (The Geo-Disc in this set has never been opened). The Limited Edition poster...One of the many publicized of The Rolling Stones albums was Beggar's banquet, whose orginal cover photo was rejected by their record label because it was  cnsidered too controversial. This poster was made available as an exclusive limited edition reproduced and enlarged on high quality paperstock. (This was made available to all those who purchased the Rolling Stones Collection who requested it with a return postcard. I am going to include a pristine print of this poster with this set. I am also going to incude a rare 2' x 2' promotional poster for this set, made available to MFSL dealerships while this set was in print, this is heavy card stock, suitable for framing. Each individual Original Master Recording disc is enveloped in an anti-static, anti-abrasive "rice paper" sleeve for maximum vinyl protection. The sleeved album is enclosed in a stiff insert board that supplies security against breakage and warpage. These components are inserted in our specially constructed outer jacket for increased cushioning. The Lps, Geodisc and Artbook included in this set have never been removed from the seperater built into the box. I have an additional set of this collection, for which I used one of the Lps for the purpose of taking photos. The winning bidder will pay $25.00 for U.S. Mail's Priority Shipping.
