Hard to find MERCILESS debut ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS LP "The Awakening" on Deathlike Silence Productions (DSP).
This was the very first record released on Deathlike Silence Productions. Very rare issue, only released in 1000 copies!!!

Merciless' debut album, The Awakening, was the very first release on the Deathlike Silence label by Euronymous. It's regarded as a significant and influential album for many bands to come.
In the subgenre of Death/Thrash, Merciless are a band that has almost no equal. Every aspect of their music pushed the boundaries to the very limit of human capabilities. Merciless delivered what could be the most forceful sounding album in the entire genre which was much needed at a time when many thrash metal bands were stagnating. Merciless were very unique and their style displayed the limits in which thrash style could played, as well as the many possibilities that the newer death metal genre could yield. This, their 1990 debut, The Awakening can be described as bloodthirsty brutal and unrelenting blackened Death/Thrash, which shows no mercy to the listener whatsoever.
