MELVINS Smash The State 7" EP M/OOP AmRep HALO OF FLIES
Original, OUT OF PRINT 4-song 7" vinyl EP on Amphetamine Reptile Records as released in 2007. True one and only pressing in one time edition of only 600 pressed... Comes with bonus 9 song CD that compiles this record's tracks along with the other Melvins' "tour only" singles AmRep had issued.
This one NEVER hit the record stores as it was a tour only deal only available at the band's shows on their 2007 tour. Basically a collaborative effort featuring Tom Hazelmyer of Halo of Flies/AmRep, he and the Melvins set out to recapture and pay homage to the real American Hard Core of the early 80s. Not that paint by numbers Van Tour-style nonsense, or as the AmRep website said, "think early Die Kreuzen digging up Darby Crash's grave for a good thrashing," and that's about as perfectly apt and accurate a description you could hope for.
