For War Child's (record-breaking) 2005 Help! album, Paul Smith and Duncan Lloyd of Maximo Park did some art for us, which appeared on the album sleeve and back. We blew up the two pieces, mounted them, and then trotted off down to HMV where Maximo Park had just done a banging gig, got them signed by the band, got the band and the pics photographed by NME...so they're well travelled but in pristine condition.
The prints measure approx. A3 with the cardboard mount on top of that. This one is by Duncan Lloyd, Maximo Park's guitarist.
Promo-Amnesty ’06!
This is the second year of War Child Music’s ‘promotional amnesty’: we delve into the mysterious world of music and film companies and return laden with the treasure that you couldn’t possibly hope to get your hands on elsewhere. These record labels, music and film magazines, games companies and PR companies generously part with their promotional goods so that we can run our annual jamboree, bringing you the things you dreamt of, and raising money for our invaluable work for children affected by war. Last year we raised over 8 grand - enough to release 160 child soldiers in the DRC for example - providing much needed financial support for our other work in Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia.
