Nestling beside Aphex Twin and LFO, Maximo Park are Warp Records' indie success story. At a time when electronica labels were signing indie bands out of desperation Warp records took a gamble out of gut instinct and struck (minor) gold. The charismatic Paul Smith is the face of Maximo Park, and his vocals are on fine form on this there DEBUT PROPER!
While the band had a very limited pressing of 'Graffiti' out before this one on a private press, this was the band's chart debut and the first proper step on their way to indie stardom. A deluxe package on tasteful matt card, 'The Coast Is Always Changing' is now a collectors' item!! Here's your chance to grab a piece of indie history for a low start price!! Of course there is NO RESERVE, as there never is with my listings!!
CONDITION OF SLEEVE/VINYL: NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT +. This record comes with the outer sleeve, the lyric inner sleeve, and the thin promo sticker with the release information. I am pleased to report that all of these are AS NEW and TOTALLY PERFECT. There are no creases, stains, rips etc. on any part of the packaging and you can expect to receive these as if you bought this record NEW. The VINYL is beautiful to behold. The playing surface is jaw-dropping... sleek and shiny! There is one minor minor paper scuff WHICH DOES NOT SOUND, and is very common with vinyl as soon as you remove it from the paper inner! This sort of mark is silent and incredibly difficult to detect unless under a bright inspection light. This is the nicest copy of this rare record you are going to find (I've looked!). YOU WON'T BE DISAPPIONTED!!
Alas, the time has come to off load some of my prized indie singles. Most of the items up this week are Out Of Print, limited edition 7" singles from current collectable artists. Some of these were featured in Record Collector Magazine, and some were not. I am an avid collector of many, many genres and keep my records in IMMACULATE condition. I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING MINT THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.
All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 7" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be 100% SATISFIED!
