Here we have a great copy of the Masters Apprentices rare and final studio album “A Toast to Panama Red”.  It was recorded when the band was in the UK.  Released in 1972 on the Columbia label SCXO 7998 this is definitely one of the most difficult Masters records to find (much more difficult than their first three albums – Self titled, Masterpiece and Choice Cuts).

It was also one of their best albums and showed a good balance of light acoustic passages with brilliant heavy sections.  Many people believe that Doug Ford’s lead guitar work came of age in this monster of a progressive album.

Rated by Guy Webber (vinyl expert) as Australia’s 16th most collectable album.  It is hardly ever found in Australia these days.

This album has been well cared for but is not in mint condition.  The cover looks great and I’d rate it as close to excellent – just a slight sign of ring wear and the back cover has some minor fading.

The vinyl has a few crackles and pops – most audible on the lighter acoustic tracks on side one.  The heavier tracks sound close to perfect.  In all a great piece of Masters Memorabilia.
