LP : Masabumi Kikuchi - But Not For Me
Original Japan pressing from 1978 on Flying Disk, VIJ-6016. Contains the original record-sized insert. Released exclusively in Japan. The Kikuchi Trio is supported by 3 percussion-players on various instruments from tabla to an instrument called “torpedo” ( ?!?). The Trio-members also play percussion sometimes, so on some tracks there's a lot of rhythm going on, Kikuchi also plays his piano sometimes in a heavy percussive manner and sometimes he repeats little phrases over and over ( both reminding sometimes of early 70ies Mal Waldron), Peacock has plenty of space to play real cool melodies. As on all 70ies albums by Kikuchi, the music is stylistically a very unique organic jazz, with modal & spiritual elements and in spite of the many percussion it's also somehow relaxed and hypnotic, the more you listen to it the more you'll get into it ( that's at least what happened to me ). Unfortunately you can only listen to “Sunday Lunch“ on youtube.Line-up: Masabumi Kikuchi/piano - Gary Peacock/bass & percussion - Al Foster drums & percussion – Badal Roy/tabla - Alyrio Lima/spiral berimbau, ximita, japanese temple bells etc. - Azzedin Weston/congas, bendir, bells etc.
Tracks: side 1: Sunday Lunch – Pastel - Pumu: #1 side 2: Circle Dance - Pumu: #2 - A Leaf
Condition: the record looks & plays in mint-. The cover shows just a hint of slightest shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with just a hint of slightest rub in a few spots parts, front & back are real fine; overall mint--. The OIS is in mint-.
Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint-. Das Cover hat nur allerleichteste Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt mit ganz leichtem Abrieb an sehr wenigen Stellen, Vorder- & Rückseite sind top; insgesamt in mint--. Das Beiblatt ist in mint-. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
