Description
Extremely rare original 1950s 10-inch LP by Masaaki Hirao, one of the first and most important rock and roll stars in Japan in the late 1950s. He is credited with being one of the first to record a western-style pop song in Japanese. On this record he performs mostly American rock and roll classics of the time: Diana, Butterfingers, Jailhouse Rock, Lonesome Cowboy, Little Darlin', Sittin' in the Balcony, and Lucille. There is one other song with a Japanese name (maybe this first Japanese "pop" song?). On the Japanese King Records label. Lyrics are printed on back in both English and Japanese. Condition is visually about a VG-, with some scuffs and light marks, but there is no deep groove damage and it plays really very nicely, with no skips. The cover is a flimsy laminated cover, with a bit of wear, but nothing major. No splits or cracks in the lamination. Only a few minor creases, mostly along the edges. Overall this record is an amazing example of a great rarity, not to be found easily in any condition.
