THE BEATLES – WHITE ALBUM, ORIGINAL MONO.

1968 PMC 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK FIRST EDITION TOP LOADING MONO PRESSING IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION, FEATURING A UNIQUE SERIAL NUMBER OF ‘0517498’.  

matrix numbers are: Side 1: YEX 709-1 Side 2 YEX 710-1 Side 3 YEX 711-1

 Side 4 YEX 712-1 

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  the double album gatefold sleeve is in very good condition with some light marking.

 The top opening edges are all good. On the front it has the wording ‘The Beatles’ embossed and a unique individual SERIAL Number of 0517498, this number appears quite clear and bold.  The records are accessed from the top.  all the text is readable.   

INNER SLEEVES: both are in good condition and feature the two original BLACK inners, they have NOT been replaced.  Both have some creasing and slight tearing - nothing serious. 

POSTER is present and is in very good condition - no tears but one or two tiny holes along the folds. 

The 4 PHOTOS are present and in excellent condition - virtually as new.

VINYL: both records are generally in very good condition (see below) with several light play scratches which cause a certain amount of background noice comparable with age and condition.

Record One (sides 1+2):  This has two slightly heavier scratches - both on side 2 - one across the end of "Rocky Raccoon" and one towards the end over "Julia" - these are fairly small and do not cause any jumping

Record Two (sides 3+4) side 3 has a very small slightly heavier marking in the middle of "Helter Skelter" - this does not cause any jumping. 

The two records are of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl and are dark and shiny.  THE LABELS:  are in good condition, featuring the original DARK green Apple colours.  There is the word "Poole" written in ink on the label to side 1&3. All the labels show  ‘Sold in  UK’ text etc. 

A great album to add to any collection  

I use the Record Collectors Grading System for the condition of second-hand records as follows:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
