Marcus Hook Roll Band – Tales of Old Grand-Daddy

Here on offer is the obscure album by the brains trust of the Easybeats Harry Vanda and George Young’s 1970s band the Marcus Hook Roll Band. This is their first and original album entitled Tales of Old Grand-Daddy issued in Australia in 1975 on the EMI label EMC-2518. This album showed a progression from the 60s Easybeats sound to a harder edge album with an occasional blues influence. This is a genuine difficult to find 70s Australian rock relic with many stand out songs. Interestingly George Young was the brother to Angus and Malcolm the original members of ACDC. I have been informed from a most reliable Australian Rock expert that both Angus and Malcolm actually played on this album as this band was a studio line up.

CONDITION
Cover – Has some ring wear and some corner creases – VG.
Vinyl – The record plays loud and clear. Has been well looked after with occasional crackle and pop heard mainly on the second side. – A very strong VG.
In all a difficult to find and virtually obscure Australian album showcasing the brilliant song writing skills of Vanda and Young. A great item for Australian rock and Easybeats collectors.
