;Beautiful Copy----MARCUS CD and LP RARE US HARD ROCK from 1976 MINT YOU GET THE LP MINT AND THE ISSUE OF THE SAME ALBUM ON CD.............. ....................................................................................................... Marcus 'S/T' United Artists, UK, 1976 UAS 30000 LEGENDARY US hard rock outfit led by Marcus Malone. Very little has ever been unearthed about this band as the record sank without trace almost immediately on release despite the quality and exuberance of the material. However, the fact that it sold zilch is no indication of its effect on the hard rock underground - this thing rocks from start to finish. And by that I don't mean it rocks in a sort of dumb-ass heads down, see you at the end boogie style but rather in a sort of majestic, pompous manner with influences dranw from the likes of Deep Purple, Legs Diamond, Rainbow and Queen. The music here is incredibly erudite and extremely well written blessed with intelligent lyrics and arrangements to die for. Tracks such as 'Black Magic', 'Salmon Ball' and 'Gypsy Fever' are all time thremo nuclear classics whislt even the short-sharp rockers such as 'High School Ladies Street Corner Babies' and 'Pillow Stars' are just as collosal. Look out for the final track 'Rise Unto Falcon', a more stunning and pompous mid seventies hard rock masterpiece you will not find. I can't recommend this album highly enough if you've never heard it before. Pressing: United Artists, UK, 1976 Vinyl: Beautiful virtually unplayed condition. No spindle marks and virtually no signs of use. Grades as top MINT-! Cover: Again, virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed cover - retains full printers bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Just a hont of storage wear to rear panel. Impossible to find like this after 39 years. Grades as MINT!
