This record has the very cool Kozik test pressing lable. Handwritten release and catalog number by Lydia Russell (man's ruin- high priestess) Test pressings do not have covers...
Before a record goes into full production, test pressings are made to check the sound quality of the mastered music and to make sure that the "mother" (the wax master cutting of a vinyl record) was cut properly. This is the test pressing of Volume 4. This is an ultra rare, will increase in value.
Man's Ruin Records, famous U.S label of artist Frank Kozik. All releasers where in editions of 5000 copies or less. The most sought-after records from the Man's Ruin catalog have consistently been The Desert Sessions records, which were released in highly limited editions on clear and colored vinyl. The CD versions of the first six volumes, as well as the rest of the entire Man's Ruin catalog have gone out of print with the demise of the label.
