The Magic Mushroom Band
"Process Of Illumination"
Very rare original limited edition (1,000 copies) private pressing 1990 UK Fungus Records vinyl LP with giant fold-out poster sleeve and embossed PVC cover!
Back in the 80/90s, Magic Mushroom Band were a big favourite with festival-going psychedelic warriors with anarchistic political leanings - a niche market, I'll freely admit, but a pretty hardcore one! I managed to catch them live a couple of times and they were always great fun, a psychedelic blizzard of swirling, energetic music and mind-bending lightshows.
On offer here, from my own collection, is the band's rarely seen privately pressed Fungus Records album 'Process Of Illumination' released in 1990. Influenced by the usual suspects favoured by festival bands in the 80s - Hawkwind, Gong, Here and Now, Pink Fairies, Deviants etc - it's a wonderful mix of acid psychedelia, freak-out rock, flowing guitar prog rock, space rock, space dub, space pop, space ambience...space everything!!
Process of Illumination has been one of my favourite MMB albums for a long time. Their version of the Beatles acid classic "Tomorrow Never Knows" opens the album in a magnificent way. There are many other great songs on this album, as well. This original album has a fabulous giant poster sleeve housed inside a thick printed embossed PVC cover.
This is one of the rarest privately pressed UK psych albums you will ever see, only 1,000 original copies were made with the fabulous giant fold-out poster sleeve and embossed PVC outer cover!! Original vinyl copies, especially in such superb condition, very rarely turns up for sale!!!
Regarded by fans as the best album that this legendary and great '80's/90's UK Festival psych band made!!
Freaked out psychedelic space rock with a '60's pop twist.....
Awesome and Rare!

Packing Procedures: All 12" / LPs are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit. When posted the records are removed from the cover, if possible, and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new mailers, either the envelope style with thick stiffeners to prevent any sleeve bends in transit, or the "cruciform" style that wrap around the LP. I aim to dispatch all items within 48 hours of receiving payment. It is recommended that you choose the insurance option for higher value items. As stated above I cannot be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in the post that are not shipped via insured / registered mail. I always obtain a certificate proof of posting receipt for every item sent, which will complete our transaction. Thank you for taking the time to look at my listings, I hope you will be lucky if deciding to make a bid.
