2020's House On Fire EP aside, this is the first significant offering we've had from Mad Caddies since 2014's Dirt Race album, and the first full length in that time, apart from the covers collection, Punk Rocksteady. Clearly not ones for forcing it, a quick re-listen to their back catalogue - if that's even possible when a band has been going since 1995 and released seven LPs - proves less is definitely more in this case. They don't come along often, then, but when they do they usually hit. And Arrows Room 117 certainly does hit. Although it's probably their most laidback record to date, veering away from the more frenetic and distorted sounds of the past and closer to more of a blues or even country style, albeit tracks like 'Baby' still betray those ska-punk roots, the impact is still significant.
