Description

An original 1st press of  TRANSFORMER on UK RCA. Matrix 1E/2E (please note 1E/1E can be found too). Note the shiny labels with 'Stereo' at 12 o'clock' - these are the 1st issue copies whilst charting. Nice solid vinyl for the period - believe me it makes a heck of a difference. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover. There's also the original RCA inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) Very well preserved and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Lovey quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A great player throughout. I'm struggling to pick out anything detrimental really. A couple of minor crackles in a couple of isolated spot that's all really [e.g opening bars of Wildside]. Given there are very fussy tracks, here, that is an epic audio level. 'Ladies' a really fussy one - plays real clean.. sweet! Lou Reed at the height of his powers - why would yo want to compromise? Clean signal and excellent reproduction. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition with really well preserved surfaces - unusually so!. Faint handling on rear. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. The spine is still lovely and square with no compression or wear [very unusual]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has clearly been looked after.
Inner (Ex) Superb. No ageing. No splits.
