Box includes four vinyl LPs in two gatefold sleeves, four CDs in two loose digisleeves, a 50 page fully illustrated book, penned by Scratch’s official biographer, David Katz and featuring an array of photos by celebrated photographer Adrian Boot, and a newly designed two-sided full colour 24” x 24” poster.
Arguably the greatest Jamaican record producer of all time, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry was instrumental in transforming the island's national sound in the sixties and seventies, with his unique approach to music making and taking music beyond previously perceived boundaries. To mark the first anniversary of his death, the best of his work is presented in a series of products that all effectively demonstrate why Perry was such a widely revered figure for so long.
The deluxe box set consists of four vinyl LPs and four CD sets of his best-known and most influential recordings, including a previously unreleased mix of Junior Murvin's mighty ‘Police and Thieves’, the British chart-buster ‘Hurt So Good’ by Susan Cadogan and the reggae classic ‘Return of Django’ by Junior Murvin, as well as numerous great Jamaican hits.
