*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG+, looks and plays great.
Record Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. The vinyl is in very good plus condition. Only a few visible scratches that have no effect on the music. Just listened to the whole album and it plays beautiful, little to no surface noise at all. Minor pops now and then from age and use, but not much. Great condition and quality. Shiny vinyl. Difficult to find this rare vintage record in such great condition. (see pictures)
Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. We grade the jacket a VG+. No tape. This record is from our personal collection and has been kept in plastic for many years. No major defects, just normal use. A very clean jacket for a 51 year old album. Minor staining on front cover at entry point. (see pictures)

The Sidewinder is a 1964 album by jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan, recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood, New Jersey. It was released on the Blue Note label as BLP 4157 in mono and BST 84157 in stereo.
Record producer Michael Cuscuna recalls the unexpected success..."the company issued only 4,000 copies upon release. Needless to say, they ran out of stock in three or four days. And 'The Sidewinder' became a runaway smash making the pop 100 charts." By January 1965, the album had reached No. 25 on the Billboard chart.
