Description

Lee Morgan on Blue Note 1541

This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lee Morgan “Sextet” on the Lexington Ave. labels of Blue Note BLP 1541.  The flat rim playing surface is in excellent condition with just a few inaudible scuffs/hairlines, but still retains a nice luster throughout; no visible groove wear and a sharp spindle hole that suggests the record was played very few times.  The coated frame Lexington Ave. cover shows small superficial flaking along the top seam and spine; the bottom seam shows 1” wear at the spine and 1” split/wear at the opening; ¾” ding at the lower left corner; discoloration along the left edge of the back slick.    Personnel include Hank Mobley, Kenny Rodgers, Horace Silver, Paul Chambers, and Charlie Persip.  $1000.00
