Description

Led Zeppelin,Led Zeppelin IV,LP, Catalogue Number: (2401012), Cover Details: Gatefold sleeve with a Lyric inner sleeve.

Cover Condition: very good condition with some creasing or marks as seen in the pictures or noted.

Record Condition: Has some light surface marks which should not affect play, these are mostly made from removing the record from the sleeve so should play through fine with no playback defects(no actual scratches or jumps/skips/sticks etc) and is acceptable to most collectors.

Any Other Details: Original very early pressing, on the red and purple Atlantic Record Label. Matrix numbers 2401012 the rare "crossed out" matrix A//3 the run out has "Pecko Duck" hand etched onto it & 2401012 B//3 also has "Porky" hand etched into the run out. The very first pressing of the labels has several mistakes - Peter Grant Credits, Led Zeppelin in the plum area, no Super Hype credits and the feather sometimes inverted on side 2. This slightly later variant has Led Zeppelin at the top, the Super Hype credits and no Peter Grant credit, but this one still has the inverted feather mis-pressing on side 2, making it a very rare intermediate label pressing. Complete with its first press grey textured lyric inner sleeve with flipbacks and the Peter Grant Credit. The inner sleeve has been cellotaped on all 3 sides, leaving residue behind but no tape. There is a 5.5 cm side seam split and a 3cm bottom seam split(on the inner sleeve). There are 2 small tears at the top opening edge and some creasing. The picture on the inner sleeve has a piece of cellotape over it. The first press gatefold sleeve has the correct grey inside the opening of the gatefold. There is some light wear to the inner gatefold, the spine has some wear. There is a ring mark starting on the back cover. This is a fragile sleeve, which is rarely found in excellent condition. this one is still solid and has no creases or tears, its just been handled too much to be classed as excellent
