Description

Led Zeppelin,IV,LP, Catalogue Number: (2401012), Cover Details: Gatefold sleeve with a Lyric inner sleeve.

Cover Condition: very good condition with some creasing or marks as seen in the pictures or noted.

Record Condition: Has some light surface marks which should not affect play, these are mostly made from removing the record from the sleeve so should play through fine with no playback defects(no actual scratches or jumps/skips/sticks etc) and is acceptable to most collectors.

Any Other Details: Original first pressing with version eight labels, on the orange and plum Atlantic record labels. This is the 8th and last known version of the original orange and plum labels. Led Zeppelin is above the white stripe, the feather logo is the correct way up, the words 'Under Licence From...' appear in the white stripe, Jimmy Page is credited as the producer and track one of side two is written as 'Misty Mountain hop'. Matrix numbers 2401012 with a 'B' and another character which we cannot read crossed out A//3 and 'Pecko Duck' hand etched & 2401012 B//4 with 'Porky' hand etched. At first glance the sleeve appears to be the normal gatefold version with a sealed left edge, but upon closer inspection there appears to be two embossed lines on the front cover above and below the frame, the top line is 9mm from the top edge and the lower line is 12mm from the bottom edge, the top embossed line is 7cm long and the bottom one is 9cm long, they both end 5mm from the opening edge in a T shape, they are not just the usual wear lines caused by the inside card pressing onto the outer layer as that mark can also be faintly seen next to the bottom line and on two other more worn copies, these wear lines are at least 5mm further in. The front cover has two light score lines or scratches across the bottom right corner of the frame, the back cover has a couple of small light coloured stains that look like a spilt drink. The spine has become a bit twisted so the corners are slightly out of alignment. This is still a good strong sleeve with no splits or large creases and hardly any shelf wear. Complete with its first pressed grey card inner which has outer glued tabs and Pete Grant credits. The sides have a 7.5cm and a 3cm seam split, while the bottom edge has a 12cm split. A new white inner sleeve has been provided to prevent further damage
