Led Zeppelin II SD-8236 Robert Ludwig “RL SS”Hot Mix RARE PRESSWELL PRESSING
Up for sale is a Robert Ludwig mastered copy of Led Zeppelin II.
"US 1st pressing (with the 1841 Broadway address on the labels), featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version."
Condition of LP is VG++ or Excellent depending on who's grading.
Playback is fantastic. Tested on a Technics 1200 MKV With ORTOFON PRO S with a Mcintosh amp and Genelec 8040b's the overall sound of the record could be described as visceral, alive, and beautifully in your face. Results may be different with styli of different shapes or if mm or mc.

Our playback speakers are super clinical so if using hifi it will be even more forgiving of slight surface noise.
Some surface noise on silent leading grooves. This could be static or dust the vpi typhoon did not get. A further cleaning with an ultrasonic might dislodge some tough stuck on dust of the last 50 years.
Minor scuffs from the paper sleeve and one long surface scratch on each side from what looks like a turntable without an auto-return. This scratches are only surface level and did not hear any defects in playback upon listening to both sides.
