Description

Up for bid is a monster of a rare classic, Led Zeppelin II with original Robert Ludwig mastering, in amazing NM- condition.  This was released by Atlantic and is SD 8326.  This set is nearly perfect all around but for few small issues.  Jacket grades VG++, almost NM- as there is some ink on the front cover (lower right hand of picture, small black rectangle) and a name written on the inside of the mouth of the jacket (see picture).  These flaws are easy to overlook considering the absolutely beautiful condition of the vinyl.  Featured are super clean green and red Atlantic labels with the 1841 Broadway address.  Also included is the original Atlantic inner sleeve advertising other releases from the label.

Side 1 is in NM- condition with two very light needle marks that cause some barely audible noise. Side 2 is solidly NM with no marks at all.  Both sides maintain a like new shine.  The matrix etchings on Side 1 read:  ST-A-697671  RL   C3.  Side 2 matrix reads:  ST-A-697692  RL  SS  A3.  (I tried to capture the "RL  SS"" in the third photo, "SS" being very light to the right of the rather clear "RL" etching).  Research indicates that this particular etching denotes a longer fade at the end of "Ramble On," which was shortened on subsequent pressings.  The dynamics of this recording cannot be overstated.  Every instrument is perfectly in its right place and the low-end does not let up.  This is absolutely the version of this album to own, and this copy will certainly not disappoint.

Bid with confidence.  All items are promptly shipped in sturdy cardboard record mailers with proper packing to ensure they arrive safely.  To prevent damage to the jacket during shipment, LPs are removed from jacket and housed in a polymer bag with the jacket.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Thanks for looking.

Upon much closer inspection, there is in fact an "SS" etching following the "RL" etching on Side One.  These S etchings are slightly askew from one another and touching, as opposed the S etchings on Side Two, which clearly have a space between them.
