Description
This is Bonzo's Last Stand which is an ultra rare Led Zeppelin album.
Recorded days before John Bonham's untimely death in September 1980 this is an amazing insight into one of Led Zeppelin's last rehearsals.
From the outset it is clear the band are really up for the forthcoming US Autumn tour. Plant is in great form with little quips being thrown in here and there.
The recording is from the sound board and is excellent.
Side One:
White Summer, Kashmir.
White Summer is a rambling wonderfully clear Page piece leading into the classic Kashmir.The mix is a little drum heavy on Kashmir.
Side Two:
Achilles Last Stand, Stairway To Heaven.
This side the sound is really excellent. Achilles Last Stand romps along until is comes to a halt, only to get going again.
Stairway is beautiful, Plant singing it as though the song is still a part of him. It's strange to think that at the end of the song this is probably the last time they ever played Stairway to Heaven as Led Zeppelin.
The Cover is in good condition but shows some slight signs of wear
