Well what can I say
Ist Issue of this classic album
All 3 pieces of the led zeppelin holy Grail are here.
1. Turquoise Sleeve. OK not in fantastic condition, had some wear and some tear. But still nevertheless it's the Turquoise sleeve. With the silver stripe on the bottom edge
Opening edges are creased and does have a tear. Also has a hole in the bottom left corner which may be able to be repaired as it is intact, goes through to the back too. Stainage on front and back and usual scuffing. But no pieces missing. It's the Turquoise Sleeve FFS.
2. Atlantic plum label. Superhype. Ist Issue
Side 1: 1,2,4 Superhype Music. 3. Jewel Music
Side 2: 1,2,3,5 Superhype Music 4. Jewel Music
Labels. Side 1 has a biro R on the orange part and side 2 has JW13 possible to remove as I think it is pencil. Not much spindle wear, nice clean
3. This is also a biggie. The matrix numbers read:
Side 1. 588171 A//1. 1 2 4 (I think) uncorrected
Side 2. 588171 B//1. 15. 6 (I think) uncorrected
When they started to mass produce they corrected the matrix. A few of these got out (1st batch) with the Turquoise Sleeve. They subsequently changed the colour or the sleeve writing to make it more Readable more punchy. So what you have here is a record that hardly ever ever comes up.
When they do you always expect 4 figures.
Some recently came up but the matrix was corrected. This is the real deal.
OK condition of record......
I would say good+/ very good -
It has obviously been played and played and loved and then played again.
I have played it through and it DOES NOT skip. It has pops and crackles on the quiet bits. But sounds pure Rock and Roll.
Noticeable scratches and marks, may have been in the sun, but can't tell. Not warped at all but run ins do have some slight marks. It does play with some slight Hissing.
