The material he was working on just prior to his death was posthumously released on three albums in the early seventies: The Cry of Love (1971), Rainbow Bridge (1972), and War Heroes (1972), mingled with outtakes and other stray tracks. This year, for the first time, Jimi Hendrix’s last studio album will be released as a single complete set, First Rays of the New Rising Sun. The set was assembled by Hendrix’s longtime engineer and co-producer Eddie Kramer and noted Hendrix historian John MeDermott, who have attempted to put together as nearly as possible the album Jimi would have released, had he lived to finish it. (This is a never before released album that was made just before Jimi died.)

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold As Love 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "Little Wing" - Rated 366/500!

Featured in Michael Fremer's Heavy Rotation in the July 2010 Issue of Stereophile!

All Analog Remaster from the Original 2-Track Master Tapes by Jimi's original engineer, Eddie Kramer.
Cut by George Marino at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180g Virgin Vinyl at RTI!

The sensational sophomore release of The Jimi Hendrix Experience highlights Hendrix's own evolving musical experimentalism and acknowledges his early musical influences of soul and R&B. Remastered from the original two-track mixdown master tapes, Axis: Bold As Love's 13-songs show the evolving trio as they neared the height of their career. Features the seminal classics "Spanish Castle Magic," "Little Wing," "Castles Made Of Sand," and the classic Easy Rider anthem, "If 6 Was 9."

"This is the album that let the other guitar greats of the era know that Hendrix was the greatest—that he’d transcended the blues riffs, the Chuck Berry-isms and the electrified C&W picking and taken string bending to new territory." - Michael Fremer, musicangle Music 10/10, Sound 9/10

"...Axis is a leisurely, bluesy jewel; Hendrix slowed down on "Little Wing" and "If 6 Was 9" to allow his guitar space to breathe as well as burn. " 'Little Wing' is like one of these beautiful girls that come around sometimes," he said. "They might be spaced, they might be kinda strung out. But everybody has a right to . . . their beliefs, if they want to believe that a star is purple, or whatever." Like Hendrix, Axis was cryptic and bewitching." - rollingstone

"Blissed out from his appearance at Monterey Pop, Hendrix brought a delicate touch to this ballad at a 1967 London session. In a mere 145 seconds, he conjured a gossamer reverie. Hendrix played one of his most lyrical solos through a Leslie speaker cabinet (creating an oscillating sound) and later added glockenspiel to complete the mood." - Rolling Stone

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Are You Experienced 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION STEREO LP

All Analog Mastering from the Original 2-Track Master Tapes by George Marino!

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 15/500!
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "The Wind Cries Mary" - Rated 379/500!

The debut release from The Jimi Hendrix Experience is widely regarded as the greatest, most influential debut release from any artist. When first released in 1967, Are You Experienced turned the music world upside down as Hendrix showed everyone exactly what it meant to be 'experienced.' Remastered from the original 2-track mixdown master tapes, this expanded 17-song collection features the ageless classics "Purple Haze," "Red House," "Stone Free," "Hey Joe," and "Are You Experienced."

The album features Jimi Hendrix's innovative approach to songwriting and electric guitar playing which soon established a new direction in psychedelic and hard rock music. Coming after three successful European singles, it helped introduce him as a new international star.

"One of the most stunning debuts in rock history, and one of the definitive albums of the psychedelic era...On Are You Experienced?, Jimi Hendrix synthesized various elements of the cutting edge of 1967 rock into music that sounded both futuristic and rooted in the best traditions of rock, blues, pop, and soul...Many of these songs are among Hendrix's very finest...he would never surpass his first LP in terms of consistently high quality." -Richie Unterberger, allmusic

"The incendiary poetry of Hendrix's guitar was historic in itself, the luminescent sum of his chitlin-circuit labors with Little Richard and the Isley Brothers and his melodic exploitation of amp howl. But it was the pictorial heat of his composing and the raw fire in his voice in "Manic Depression," "The Wind Cries Mary" and "I Don't Live Today" that established the transcendent promise of psychedelia." -Rolling Stone

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Are You Experienced 200 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP (Mono)

Michael Fremer Rated 9/10 Music, 9/10 Sonics!

Limited Edition! 200g Mono Audiophile Vinyl!
Mastered by Bernie Grundman From Original Monophonic Master Tapes!
Pressed at Quality Record Pressings!

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 15/500!
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "The Wind Cries Mary" - Rated 379/500!

The mono versions of this Jimi Hendrix classic is drawn from the original monoaural mixes created by Chas Chandler, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Kramer in 1967. Mastered by Bernie Grundman, each album features original artwork and sequencing. This highly sought after mix, previously unavailable for decades, is presented on 200-gram audiophile vinyl.

The debut release from The Jimi Hendrix Experience is widely regarded as the greatest, most influential debut release from any artist. Are You Experienced has long been acknowledged as one of the most influential rock albums of all time. There are, however, two distinctly different editions of this legendary album. The original version, prepared and sequenced by Jimi and producer Chas Chandler, was issued throughout Europe in May 1967. This album excludes the group's first three UK singles. There has never been a mono release of this album in the U.S.

The classic US edition of the album was only available in mono for a brief period after its original August 1967 release. This version features the classic fish-eye cover and includes such hits as "Purple Haze" and "Hey Joe".

These original monophonic mixes for both albums have been transferred from the original master tapes by noted mastering engineer Bernie Grundman. Grundman's all analog mono mastering process help to present the vitality of the original recordings as accurately as possible.

The UK mono version of Are You Experienced contains the original UK pressing cover by Track Records. The tracklisting differs from the U.S. version in that it does not contain the three singles: "Purple Haze", "Hey Joe" or "The Wind Cries Mary" but instead these three tracks 'Red House", "Can You See Me", and "Remember" (which do not appear on the US version).

"It's coherent, powerful and not as "reverb-y" as the stereo mix... The mono mix puts it all together nicely and Grundman's cut is wide band, ultra-clean and dynamic... The drumming on "May This Be Love" is so much more powerful and effective on the mono mix. In fact everything is better, but especially the drumming. The mono mix is cohesive. The stereo mix is fractured." - Michael Fremer, analogplanet Music 9/10, Sound 9/10!

Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 2 LP SET

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 55/500!

All Analog Remaster from the Original 2-Track Master Tapes by Jimi's original engineer, Eddie Kramer.
Cut by George Marino at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180g Virgin Vinyl at RTI!

Electric Ladyland is widely considered The Jimi Hendrix Experience's crowning achievement and focuses attention on Hendrix's abilities as singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. This stunning collection provides the earliest insight into Hendrix's "Sky Church" concept with featured guest appearances by Steve Winwood, Jack Casady, Al Kooper, Chris Wood, and Buddy Miles. Features 16 of the most enduring Hendrix classics including "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)," "Crosstown Traffic," "Gypsy Eyes," and "All Along The Watchtower."

"I'm getting myself personally together in the way of music," Hendrix said on the release of his third album. "Some tracks are getting very long. That's why you can only get about twenty tracks — our type of tracks, anyway — onto two records." The longest track here, "Voodoo Chile," lasts for more than fifteen minutes; with the interplay between Steve Winwood on organ and Hendrix on guitar, it's also one of the best. Ladyland showcases Hendrix's further explorations of the guitar, but two of the finest tracks are the most direct: the explosive "Crosstown Traffic" and the definitive version of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower." - rollingstone

Jimi Hendrix Rainbow Bridge Original Motion Picture Soundtrack  Limited Edition 200 GRAM LP

200 GRAM Vinyl Contains Both Studio and Live Recordings!
All Analogue Mastering by Bernie Grundman! Pressed at QRP!
Remastered from the Original 2 Track Master Tapes!

Rainbow Bridge is an album by American musician Jimi Hendrix. It was the second posthumous album release by his official record company and is mostly composed of recordings Hendrix made in 1969 and 1970 after the breakup of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Despite the cover photo and subtitle Original Motion Picture Sound Track, it does not contain any songs recorded during his concert appearance for the 1971 film Rainbow Bridge.

Continuing in the vein of The Cry of Love, the first official posthumous Hendrix album, Rainbow Bridge explores new guitar styles and textures. All the songs, except for a solo studio version of "The Star Spangled Banner," are written by Hendrix and mostly performed with Mitch Mitchell on drums and Billy Cox on bass.

The songs on Rainbow Bridge represent material in various stages of development and were never finalized or approved for release by Hendrix. Four of the songs on the album, along with the ten songs from The Cry of Love and three from War Heroes, were planned for Hendrix's followup album to the live Band of Gypsys, released in March 1970. Rainbow Bridge contains both studio and live music featuring "Star Spangled Banner" at the Record Plant in New York in March of 1969 and "Hear My Train a Comin'" recorded live at Berkeley Community Theatre.

Jimi Hendrix Band Of Gypsys 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP

Jimi Hendrix took the stage at the Fillmore East in New York to perform a set that would become, in part, one of the best Live albums ever recorded - entitled simply "Band of Gypsys". In fact, Hendrix played two nights at the Fillmore, the second performance being on New Years day 1970 after a rousing performance on New Years eve 1969. To celebrate the beginning of the new decade, Fillmore East impresario Bill Graham went to great length to ensure a special evening for his patrons, dressing his ushers in special shirts and placing toy tambourines on each of the venue's 2,639 seats. He strode onstage and introduced "some very old friend with a brand-new name" As the sold-out crowd roared in approval, Jimi led his trio through a scintillating 75 minute set.

Hendrix was ON this night delivering perhaps his finest live performance. His playing was focused and precise. In fact, for most of the set, Hendrix stood motionless, a far cry from the stage antics that helped establish his reputation as a performer. Equipment problems had plagued him in past live shows as well, but everything was perfect for the Fillmore shows. His absolute mastery of his guitar and effects is even more amazing considering that this was the first time he used the Fuzz Face, wah-wah pedal, Univibe, AND Octavia pedals on stage together. The guitar tones he gets on "Who Knows" and "Power to Love" are powerful and intense, but nowhere is his absolute control more evident than on "Machine Gun," where Hendrix conjures bombs, guns, and other sounds of war from his guitar, all within the context of a coherent musical statement. The solo on "Machine Gun" totally rewrote the book on what a man could do with an electric guitar and is arguably the most groundbreaking and devastating guitar solo ever. At midnight, when the strains of the Guy Lombardo Orchestra's "Auld Lang Syne" filled the theatre, the Band of Gypsys appeared back on stage, Jimi launching into his own arrangement of the traditional year-opener, a beautiful rendition that captivated the audience immediately.

Jimi Hendrix Valleys Of Neptune 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 2 LP SET

Remastered from the Original 2-Track Analog Master Tapes by Jimi's original engineer, Eddie Kramer. Cut by George Marino at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180g Virgin Vinyl at RTI!

Valleys of Neptune contains 12 previously unreleased tracks recorded in 1969 shortly prior to the untimely demise of the iconic guitarist, Jimi Hendrix. Mixed by Jimi's original engineer.

The title track, "Valleys of Neptune", has been one of the most sought after of all of Hendrix's commercially unavailable recordings. The compilation album also includes exciting 1969 arrangements of classic signature songs "Red House", "Fire", and "Stone Free". Also included are unheard studio versions of Hendrix's inspired interpretations of "Bleeding Heart" by Elmore James and Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love".

Jimi Hendrix's 11th studio album — the eighth to be issued posthumously and first since 1980 — boasts his Experience trio's final studio recordings, his earliest sessions with bassist Billy Cox and the long-shelved Mr. Bad Luck, intended for 1968's Axis: Bold as Love.

"Included is a frenzied "Fire", the long-coveted title track, a sprawling cover of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" and such retooled originals as "Lover Man", "Red House" and "Crying Blue Rain". Throughout, Hendrix displays confidence, humor, spontaneity and his trademark virtuosity as he undergoes a shift from psychedelia and unbridled soloing to R&B structures."

"It's wonderfully fresh material," says longtime Hendrix engineer Eddie Kramer, who originally recorded, and newly mixed, the Neptune tracks, employing high-tech digital and analog gear to cleanse the audio. "You hear the pure essence of the band, an in-your-face vibrancy. There were only four tracks and no overdubs, with Jimi singing as if he's in a concert. He's at the top of his game."
 - USA Today

Thanks to the legacy and material he left behind, even 40 years after his death we're able to enjoy something new and exciting from this influential guitar icon.

"Once the original analog tapes had been transferred to digital using the Burl Audio A/D converters at 24 bits and 96kHz, Kramer mixed Valleys through a vintage API console using an array of vintage tube gear, as well as the latest ProTools plug-ins from Waves for cleaning, de-noising, and de-clicking. He also used Waves' EQ and compressors and mixed to 1/2" tape at 15ips with Dolby SR noise reduction." - Robert Baird, Stereophile Magazine, April 2010

Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix (1993) was recorded by various artists in tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The artists were drawn from many genres of popular music. Contributors include his classic rock contemporaries Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, blues man Buddy Guy, classical violinist Nigel Kennedy, alternative pop/rock bands Belly and Spin Doctors, hip hop artists P. M. Dawn, among others.

According to the liner notes, the "artists were encouraged to not only record one of their own personal favorites but to also place their stamp on Jimi's songs." Several artists recorded radically different interpretations, particularly, P. M. Dawn, The Cure, Nigel Kennedy and Pat Metheny. Some artists, on the other hand, recorded versions that were rather similar to the originals.

The band M.A.C.C. is made up of Mike McCready (guitarist from Pearl Jam), Jeff Ament (bassist from Pearl Jam), Matt Cameron (drummer for Soundgarden and later for Pearl Jam), and Chris Cornell (singer of Soundgarden and later Audioslave). The cover of "Hey Baby (Land of the New Rising Sun)" is their only known recording. All four members of this group had previously worked together on the Temple of the Dog project.

Eric Clapton's backing group on the title track includes the three original core members of Chic (Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson) and is the last recording on which all three played together.

Curtis Knight & The Squires featuring FOR THE 1ST TIME ON VINYL Jimi Hendrix You Can't Use My Name 150 GRAM AUTHORIZED HENDRIX FAMILY LIMITED EDITION LP

150g Vinyl Newly Mixed by Eddie Kramer! Pressed at Quality Record Pressings! Includes Previously Unreleased Material!

This special compilation presents Jimi Hendrix’s 1965-1967 sessions with Curtis Knight & The Squires prior to his international fame leading the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

While Jimi Hendrix’s intermittent tenure as a guitarist for Curtis Knight & The Squires in 1965 and 1966 was relatively brief, more than 100 albums have been crafted from approximately forty studio recordings and consumer grade stage recordings by the group. Most featured low fidelity variations, remixes, edited versions, and instrumentals of the same material — often with their song titles changed. These albums were poorly annotated and all too often featured cover art that depicted the guitarist at the peak of his Jimi Hendrix Experience fame (and not as ‘Jimmy Hendrix,’ a sideman to Curtis Knight) and thus snared unwitting fans throughout the world that were starved for new Hendrix music for decades.

Jimi Hendrix was hamstrung throughout his career by litigation over these recordings in the US and UK and these fights continued until his family ultimately prevailed in litigation. You Can’t Use My Name stands as their first attempt to present this music in its original context.

You Can’t Use My Name is newly mixed and prepared for release by Eddie Kramer and includes the previously unreleased 1966 recording “Station Break,” the full length versions of “Knock Yourself Out [Flying On Instruments],” “No Such Animal,” and the 1967 recording of “Gloomy Monday” that includes dialogue between Hendrix and producer Ed Chalpin (featuring the guitarist’s request that the producer not use his name on this session because of the ongoing litigation between them).

Features:
• Authorized Hendrix Family Edition
• 150g Vinyl
• Pressed at Quality Record Pressings
• Newly mixed by Eddie Kramer
• Includes the previously unreleased recording "Station Break"
• Gatefold Jacket
• Includes a free download of the album plus two tracks not featured on the LP: "Simon Says" and "Hornet's Nest"

NEXT ARE TRIBUTE PICTURE DISC THAT IS LONG OUT OF PRINT AS A BONUS TO A COLLECTOR WHO WANTS IT ALL

STARTING WITH - IN FROM THE STORM THE MUSIC OF JIMI HENDRIX - VARIOUS ARTISTS PICTURE DISC -

There is no reason why this album should be below 5 stars. Before Jimi Hendrix perished, he said that his dream was to be able to see other cats jamming to his music and his goal in the seventies was to be a formal student of music theory and to jam with a live orchestra. When I got this album I got chills on my spine because of the musical impact and of what I read in past Hendrix interviews. Miles Davis was stunned by the young guitarist's capabilities. Gil Evans wanted to start a project with Jimi Hendrix. Both Jazz inovator and Conducter were left influenced and inspired. This album, In From The Storm is proof of how professional musicians of all genres became influenced and passionate of Jimi Hendrix's music. To conclude, this album is great and to hear Santana, Sting, John Mclaughlin, Stanley Clarke and the London PhilHormononic Ochestra was just awesome.

The second single by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, "Purple Haze" coupled with "51st Anniversary", as it was issued in the UK and Europe, showcases the artistry and mystique of Jimi Hendrix.
