Minimal author Ion Ludwig is an expert at laying down superbly simmering, perfectly reduced techno tracks that are dusty yet dynamic, infectious and heady all at once. 15 years into his career he remains at the top of his game and this new album for Basel's Adam's Bite is another excellent one. It finds him push his own boundaries, calling variously on oboe samples, watery chords, jazz cymbals and plenty more to take you deep into a warren of darkly involving minimal grooves that are always stuffed with detail for the head while never forgetting the requirements of your heels.
