Description

Up for auction here is an early Monarch pressing of this moody LA psych masterpiece. The vinyl is visually between a VG and VG+, but plays more like the latter.  It  has very faint scuffs only visible in bright light, but the album plays through on my Rega turntable very well with no jumps or skips. There is some slight surface noise, especially in the run-in grooves and between songs, but it is never intrusive. (Early pressings of this record are notorious for being noisy straight out of the shrink, and this one is comparably quieter than other copies I have heard.) Still I am conservatively grading it a VG. Sleeve has residue and 1/2" of slick torn away due to scotch tape removal by previous owner. Back of jacket has ID sticker that would be annoying if it weren't so gosh-darn adorable (thanks Aleta!); this sticker might be removable with goo gone, some heat, or other type of solvent, but I will leave that up to the next owner. Other than that, the sleeve is in nice shape; however, its minor defects force me to, again, err on the conservative side and give it a VG grade. Ships in generic paper inner sleeve, but I will include the original Elektra inner sleeve since I'm cool like that. Overall, a more than solid play copy. You'll LOVE it!

[IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ] In the past year, I have experienced issues with USPS, namely light damage to packages during shipment, especially when using Media Mail. These incidents have not been common, but they have occurred. I pack all records carefully with reenforced cardboard and use whiplash mailers whenever possible. This usually offers ample protection. That said, I cannot be held responsible to damage done to records by the USPS during shipment. If your item is of significant value, I recommend using USPS Priority, which will ensure it. Please let me know if you would like to go with this service, and I will adjust the shipping cost after the auction is over!

I try to grade all of my records as conservatively and accurately as I can. When buying older records, please keep in mind that records do play differently on different equipment. When I have play-tested a record, I will indicate that I have done so and the equipment used. At the moment, I am not set up to provide audio samples.

Please also note that used records are antiques, and even those in the best of condition occasionally have minor imperfections or “quirks”. These can include light surface noise and pops due to manufacturing defects (when not indicated by me), yellowing or fading from light exposure, or odors, such as cigarette smoke, from storage in previous owners’ homes. These imperfections generally are not grounds for a return or refund.

Please honor the terms of the sale if you are the winning bidder. If you are not able to pay the amount of your highest bid, then please don’t bid.

I am a serious collector and probably buy more than I sell. While it's certainly nice to make a few bucks here and there, I do this to support my vinyl habit more than anything. That said, it is my top priority for my customers to be happy and satisfied. If you are ever unsatisfied with an item you have purchased, please email me. I am a reasonable person and, within reason, I will do my best to work out a solution to any problem that arises. My very high feedback rating on eBay speaks for itself.

And don’t forget to check out my other auctions for cool and collectable vinyl at reasonable starting bids. Happy bidding!
